W I N T E R T E N N I S We are working on the Mixed ALTA teams and the USTA teams for the winter season ! If you would like to play on a team or move to a new team , please email the tennis staff at tennis @ horseshoebendcc . com . R E M I N D E R To help us to continue to offer great service to all members and guests , please remember to drop off any towels after your game in the bin provided in the Tennis and Swim Clubhouse lobby . We understand players may occasionally forget towels in their bag . If you find a HBCC tennis towel at home , please return it during your next visit ; we ’ ll just be happy to have them back ! L E A G U E H B C C C H A M P I O N S The Tennis Club Championships concluded on Sunday , August 26th with a great crowd experiencing some great tennis ! In the Men ’ s A singles final , it was a repeat of last year with Keith Banister coming out on top with a straight sets victory over Matt Anderson . This is Keith ’ s third title in a row . The Men ’ s A doubles was also a repeat of the final from last year : Sam Harris / Mitch Falkin vs Rod Armbruster / Matt Anderson . The head - to - head stood at one / all on Saturday , with Sam Harris / Mitch Falkin coming out on top this year in two sets . The Mixed doubles also saw repeat winners with Sue and Pat Blair defeating Kim and Eric Ruder in the final . The Men ’ B grade saw some great tennis and long matches . After a tight semi - final where they won 7 / 6 in the third , PJ DeRijke and Eric Melcher came out the champions in the final over Freddy Beilstein and Scott Weaver . The Men ’ s B Singles also saw Scott Weaver in the final , this time finishing on top with a victory over Lee Hull . C L A S S E S Y E A R S This is the perfect program to introduce your tot to tennis ! Designed to expose children to basic motor skills and coordination activities , the focus will be on teaching basic tennis skills in a fun and exciting program that will get them hooked on playing tennis and starting their tennis journey . Classes will take place on Thursday afternoons from 3 : 30pm to 4pm , and class sizes will be limited . The price is $ 10 per class . To register your child , please contact F O R A G E S 3 - 4
